Last weekend, the 9 – 10th of June, marked the annual WordPress conference, WordCamp Orange County. 2018 marked the third year that the Aspen Grove Studios team attended the event. Today, we’ll be sharing some of the highlights of the event in a blog post.
First, Aspen Grove Studios co-founder David Blackom, teamed up with long-term collaborator, Tim Strifler of Divi Life, to give a talk on the processes involved in starting a WordPress product business.
During the talk, David and Tim shared their respective success stories, detailing their paths into WordPress and their Divi discoveries. Both parties also shared the steps they took that led them to WordPress product development.
A great success, the talk was incredibly well received by all attendees! If you missed it live, watch David and Tim discuss “How to Run a Successful WordPress Product Business” below.
As well as the incredible talks, live demonstrations, networking opportunities and social events, one of the best things about attending WordCamps is getting to meet up with online friends, IRL.
Being as close-knit it is, the Divi community has sparked a plethora of lifelong friendships between people that would’ve normally never met. Over the years, after communicating through support groups, Facebook threads and Slack channels, members of the global Divi community have met face-to-face, and continue to do so, mainly at WordCamps around the country.
This year, Aspen Grove Studios founders David Blackmon and Cory Jenkins, had the pleasure of spending the weekend with a number of their closest friends and peer Divi lovers, including:
- Tim Strifler of Divi Life
- Adam Inlay of Adam Inlay Web Design (an Addy!)
- Jerry Simmons of Fervent Solutions
- Terry Hale of Mizagorn Inc.
- Tammy Grant of Sunflower Creatives
- Leslie Bernal of A Girl and Her Mac
- Jill Sessa of Ultimate WP Help
- Donna Sicard of Aspen Grove Studios
The group was also joined by Elegant Themes founder, Nick Roach, and members of the Elegant Themes team, Nathan B. Weller and Kenny Singh. As well as attending plenty of talks together, the Divi community along with the core members of Elegant Themes all sat down and discussed the future of Divi.
Without a doubt, it was another incredibly successful WordCamp! David and Cory can’t wait to return next year to represent Aspen Grove Studios, Divi Space and Potent Plugins for the fourth year in a row!
We want to hear from you!
